day four

oh how i love that sweet girl!

and oh, how she LOVES kindergarten!

today's lunch was pretty plain jane...but wait....

there was a little hidden surprise, thanks to my new found friend, foodoodles!

after we dropped big sister off in the big carpool lane (lordy mercy, i may never get the hang of that!) the littles and i were off the have some fun.

that baby boy is really getting just too big, too fast...

wow...and this one is growing even faster!! and before i could take anymore pictures, our playmates showed up.

and look how these babies have grown. weren't we just preggo, aunt su? i guess it is time to get out those bricks... ;)

boxer bauer

we briefly interrupt this first week of kindergarten to bring you....boxer bauer. wednesday afternoon, bauer was very very tired, and after several attempts at talking him out of a bad mood i simply sent him to his room to work it out himself. and this is what emerged...

just so you know...that is a polo sweater vest (backwards), his sister's uniform under shorts, grey church socks, and a pair of thick mittens....which are OBVIOUSLY his boxing gloves!! he even swiped the three foot bolster pillow off our bed to act as his punching bag. (which our friend, who is a father of three boys himself, kindly offered to hold.)

i probably should have been mad...but with this sweet face and his flair for creativity...i have to admit...i was IMPRESSED!!

day three

little miss kindergarten day three. ummmm...i'm guessing this is a dance pose?!

on wednesday i was able to leave my office a bit early and meet this sweet girl for lunch. can you believe on day three she has already made lots of new friends?

but no worries, she still likes hanging with old mom, too!!

oh...and today's lunch was princess themed. those are grape blueberry swords, and we pretended the teddy bears were her soldiers. teehee...

and what better way to finish hump day than to walk home from school with some old friends. yep, i'm thinking we've got this school things down pat!!! :)

second day

wow...these kiddos are really loving getting up early!! who knew? while these two sweet babies cuddled and watched cartoons our big kindergartner got ready for day number two!!

even baby sister is getting so big so fast. she has now learned how to smile for the camera!!!

and just for posterity...here is v's lunch for day two. a peanut butter sandwich with sprinkle hair, raisin eyes, mike and ike mouth, and a pink marshmallow flower bow...just like miss v's!! she LOVED it. :)

it was a great day. the littles and i had our first full day of just us. we went to the park and jog\walked a couple miles and spent some time with popa and dotdot before heading home for lunch and a quiet afternoon. not a bad day, at all!!

first day

my teeny tiny sweet girl...who apparently is not so teeny....started kindergarten today. after getting dressed in her hello kitty purple knee socks, skort, and purple chuck taylors...she requested a breakfast of pancakes and sausage.

and after a big good luck hug from aunt k,

she was ready. sitting in the kindergarten section waiting to be called to class. i know, i know, in this picture she looks like she is SIXTEEN!!!

which is why in this picture is looks like i have been crying (because i HAVE!! just for the record i removed myself while i gained my composure!)

the best part, by far, was when i went to pick her up. as i stood and watched her teacher walk the class to the front of school, i saw by baby girl's big BIG smile! when i asked her how her first day went her reply was simple, "yeeeeeehhhh!!! GREAT!!!" i couldn't ask for anything more! :)

meanwhile...

the little kids had a great day!! since aunt k came to watch them this morning while daddy and i took vivian to her first day, we decided to make the most of her visit...

after a few errands we hit the park.

and after a week of 100 plus temps, it was a beautiful day.

this little girl was far too busy to be bothered with having her picture made...

but i did convince this sweet big boy to give me a smile! :)

ruffin ranch

today we made a little trip to see aunt k. they have 10acres and a LOT of big equipment (uncle n is an excavator). very sweet, big cousin cody came and took the little ones on a few rides.

although they were equally as happy just climbing and playing (i know her eyes are closed, but this picture cracks me up!)

and just exploring. bauer had such a great time i'm sure disney world would be a far second! in fact, when we were less than a mile from the house b said, "mommy, i miss cody. take me back for a ride!"

kindergarten carnival

or at least that is what i THINK it was called. it could be called "my mom is going to have a heart attack because i am going to big kid school". anyhow, yesterday was the day that we found out who v's teacher would be this year...and here she is:

have mercy...they are both getting so BIG!! as a reward we went to have mexican food with a special guest...

the real toy story

my grandparents (well mainly my grandmother) saved a lot of things. surprisingly, one of them was tickle-me-elmo. i have no idea why...but i could never bring myself to sell or donate him. so there he sat...until the other day, when this little girl discovered him.

and oh-how it made her smile and giggle!! and then made ME smile and giggle thinking about how much my children were loved and wanted by those grandparents (even before they were born)!!

yep miss f, THAT is just pure bliss!! :)

100+ days of summer

our heat wave is official underway...so we have tried to add some more indoor fun to our repertoire.

sibling silliness is always a hit. :)

and so is beauty parlor.

during which, frances sported her very first dog ears.

we have even made a couple of trips to the movies.

and once (when we saw the smurfs) we even had a special guest...daddy!

but sometimes folks, we just have to use our imaginiton. like this...well, this is....well....i had to ask. the reply:

"trying to sneak past the security guard, mom!!"
